iEat Green Welcomes Timothy Wise, Author of “Eating Tomorrow” on the Progressive Radio Network

Hi Everyone,

I am so happy to have the opportunity to introduce all of you to Timothy Wise. I heard Tim speak last year at Columbia University as part of a lecture series on food justice, connecting the dots between our food system, public health, and health policy. He spoke about “Food as a Commodity,” and we will continue that conversation as we discuss his new book, Eating Tomorrow: Agribusiness, Family Farmers, and the Battle for the Future of Food. Tim is a senior researcher at the Small Planet Institute, where he directs the Land and Food Rights Program. He is also a senior research fellow at Tufts University’s Global Development and Environment Institute, where he founded and directed its Globalization and Sustainable Development Program. He previously served as executive director of the U.S.-based aid agency Grassroots International. His other book is Confronting Globalization: Economic Integration and Popular Resistance in Mexico. Tim lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Please join me on Thursday, as Tim and I talk about the economics of our food system, the future for our family farmers, and how we can turn it around.
