Farmworkers Need Our Protection!

They are some of the least protected workers in the country!— they’re even excluded from the federal standards for minimum wage and overtime pay that are guaranteed to other workers.

The Department of Labor has just submitted a new proposal that would remove some of the safeguards that are in place to guarantee a safe living situation, like federal inspections of housing, along with reduced wages and job opportunities! 

Tell USDA to enforce strong, mandatory oversight that accounts for human, agricultural, and environmental health, and requires proof of safety.

Tell the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to Not Weaken the Standards!!

The Trump Administration is at it again!! This time, they are trying to rollback the regulations that require oil and gas companies to monitor their leakage of methane gas! As you probably know, methane gas has 84 times more heat-trapping emissions than CO2, and it’s crucial that companies monitor it if we want to combat climate change. Methane is estimated to be responsible for up to a quarter of the planet’s warming. Tell the EPA to Not Weaken the Standards!!
