Please Help Us Get Toys! iEat Green Joins the River Fund in Bringing Christmas to the People! Dena Merriam, Founder of Global Peace Initiative of Women and author of “My Journey Through Time” Joins Bhavani on PRN

Hi Everyone,

This weekend is when I start cooking for our annual Christmas Dinner for the People event, which will take place on Tuesday, November 18th! It will be my 24th year working with the River Fund NY, in bringing not only a delicious, hot meal, to the folks in the community, but coats, blankets, shoes and toiletries, as part of our Coat Drive. Every year, the River Fund shows up with thousands of toys, so parents can pick out the perfect gift for their child. This year, due to Toys R Us going out of business, The River Fund NY has not been able to purchase enough toys to meet the demand. We are putting out an Emergency Appeal to all of my followers and circle of friends, to please make a generous donation towards our Gift Drive, so no child goes gift-less this holiday season! Just click on to the River Fund’s website, and help make this holiday special for some deserving youngster! We are also continuing to collect unwanted jewelry, and boxing that up for the older children. Items can be dropped off at the iEat Green Homestead in Old Westbury. If you want to sign up to help cook, here is the link!

Volunteers are needed to join our Christmas Carolers in the Park, on Tuesday from 11-2pm. Please send me an email if you would like to participate.

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Dena Merriam, the Founder and Convener of Global Peace Initiative of Women and author of the new book, “My Journey Through Time; a Spiritual Memoir of Life , Death and Rebirth”. Dena is also a managing partner and Vice Chairman of Finn Ruder, Inc, where she works in cultural marketing, creative services and works for religious and non profit organizations. In her spare time, she serves on the boards of the Interfaith Center of New York, AIM for Seva and Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association. Dena is a former member of the board of Harvard University Center for the Study of World Religions and the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy. She was Co-Chair of the Millennium World Peace Summit, the first summit held at the United Nations General Assembly for more than 1500 of the world’s religious leaders. It is my pleasure and honor to have Dena on my show. Please join us on Thursday to find out what the Global Peace Initiative of Women is up to now!
