In the News: Yesterday, More than 450 People Joined the Rally in Albany to Demand Support for Climate Justice in the NYS Budget! The Long Island CSA Fair is Coming Up, Saturday, March 26th!

As I was scouring the paper to find out more about the protest that took place in Albany on Tuesday, I was shocked to see so little news about the event. New York Renews, and the other grassroots organizations that organized the protest, were demanding that Albany add 15 Billion dollars to the State budget to fight climate change. Unfortunately, the only news I could find about the event had to do with 2 Democratic Senators posing with a banner that used imagery of 9/11, to make a statement about Climate change. Obviously, the banner was in bad taste, and a plane hitting the twin towers has nothing to do with the climate crisis we are facing.

However, the fact that there was so little coverage of the event, given the emergency situation we are in with the climate crisis, is really disappointing.

Come Join Your Community at the Long Island CSA Fair on March 26th from 11-3pm! (3/27 Rain Date)

This will be a great opportunity to meet your local farmers, and to learn more about each individual CSA program, allowing you to choose the perfect program for you or your family. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, and it is a great way to partner with a farmer and get a weekly share of the harvest.

Food Trucks and Music will be there, so bring your appetites and dancing shoes!

This event is sponsored by iEat Green, Slow Food North Shore, NOFA-NY, Deep Roots Farmers Market, and the Sisters of St. Josephs.
