iEat Green’s Interview with Michelle Schwegmann, Author of “Eat Like You Give a Damn”

Hi All,

Yesterday I had a delightful conversation and interview with Michelle Schwegmann, author of the new cookbook, Eat Like You Give a Damn, and owner of the Herbivore Clothing Company in Portland Oregon. Michelle, and her husband, Josh Hooten, are ethical vegans, meaning they chose to become vegan not for health reasons, but because they do not believe in the mistreatment of animals, or in the killing of animals for food or clothing. Their philosophy is compassion and cruelty free living, and they Michelleincorporate that into all aspects of their life. Their store began as a small, on-line tee shirt company, selling shirts with vegan sentiments, and eventually became a store front operation selling everything from clothing, books and accessories for personal care and the home. Their book, Eat Like You Give a Damn, came about after years of customers asking them to recommend their favorite vegan cookbook. Not having a favorite, they decided to create one. Eat Like you Give a Damn is filled with simple, everyday meals, snacks, sauces and dips that are easy to prepare, and simple to adapt to your favorite family recipes. If you missed our interview, you can listen to it below.
