Last week I had the privilege of interviewing Wes Gillingham, the co-founder of the Catskill Mountainkeeper, and learning about all of the great work they are doing to preserve and protect the natural beauty in the Catskills and surrounding areas. Upstate New York has already begun to feel the impacts of Climate Change, with massive flooding, the loss of pollinators, and the loss of small family farms, and Catskill Mountainkeeper is there to make the needs of rural New Yorker’s known in Albany. They have been instrumental in the ban on fracking and protesting pipelines, while promoting school gardens, farmers markets, and protecting dairy farms.
