I just finished my interview with Leonard Buschel about his journey from a drug dealer and cannabis addict, to a California Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, working with people struggling with drug addiction. He has documented it all in his new memoir, HIGH: Confessions of A Cannabis Addict.

I really appreciated his perspective of how everything was veiled when looking at it while high, and once he became sober, it was like taking off the rose colored glasses, and seeing everything beautiful for the first time. He has founded Writers In Treatment whose primary purpose is to promote ‘treatment’ as the best first step solution for addiction, alcoholism and other self-destructive behaviors, and started the REEL Recovery Film Festival & Symposium®, which he has hosted for the past 13 years.

Leonard is currently the editor and publisher of the weekly Addiction/Recovery eBulletin®, which has articles and resources for anyone who is in recovery or exploring the idea of going sober.
