iEat Green Joins the Virtual Organic Food Drive for Yom Kippur! Our Thanksgiving Feast for Those in Need is Around the Corner! Maryam Henein, Director of “Vanishing the Bees” Joins Bhavani on PRN!

Hi All,

Every year, as part of the Jewish New Year, there is a tradition of collecting shelf stable foods for local food pantries during Yom Kippur. The problem with this tradition is that the bulk of the foods being collected are canned foods, and it is not the type of food that food insecure people need to eat. They get plenty of canned, cheap foods. What they don’t get is fresh produce, especially organic! So we set out to change that! We partnered with GiveHealthy.org, a part of Amp Your Good crowd sharing technology, and started an organic food drive through the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore.

The way is works, is that you make a virtual purchase of organic fruit and/or vegetables, anytime between now and October 20th, through the RSNS Give Healthy Food Drive, and your donation will be delivered to Long Island Cares, to be distributed to their LI Food Pantries. All donations are tax-deductible, so PLEASE consider joining our food drive and help to bring the harvest to those who need it the most!

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Maryam Henein, the documentary filmmaker who brought us the film, Vanishing of the Bees, narrated by Ellen Page.  Maryam is a Canadian-born investigative journalist, activist, functional medicine consultant, and entrepreneur, as well as a filmmaker. Her latest article in the Epoch Times is an exposé of the censorship taking place across social media platforms, specifically Google, and the lack of freedom of speech when it comes to alternative health modalities and the ability to access a variety of information. I hope you can join us on Thursday, as we discuss the connections between Big Pharma, Big Tech and Google, and the conflict of interest that allowed us access to alternative information has on them.

My radio show, iEat Green with Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network is live, every Thursday, from 10-11 am, EST.  To tune in to the live show, just navigate to PRN.fm and listen in!

If you miss our live show please listen on iTunes by downloading the Podcast App.
