iEat Green Joins NOFA-NY this Weekend for the Winter Conference; Kayleen St.John from Genuine Foods Joins Bhavani on PRN

Hi Everyone,

This weekend is NOFA-NY’s Winter Conference, and I am honored to announce that I have been asked to join the board! Assuming I am voted in, I will take my place as a new member of the NOFA-NY Board of Trustees, and bring my passion for organic food and agriculture with me. I know I have a lot to share, but I am equally excited because I know I have a lot to learn from the amazing people already doing this important work! I am also looking forward to working with, and getting to know all of the organic farmers on Long Island. We have been without a Long Island Chapter for a long time, and I am hoping to be able to help facilitate the coming together and revitalization of the organic farming community in our region of New York.

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Kayleen St.John, the Executive Director at Genuine Foods, a for service management company that measures it’s success by the health and well-being of the communities it serves. Prior to joining Genuine Foods, Kayleen was the COO at Euphebe Healthcare, and the Director of Nutrition at the Natural Gourmet Institute. Kayleen is currently an adjunct professor of Nutrition in Food Studies at NYU. In addition to her roles at food-based companies, she has also worked in private practice consulting with clients on the topics of heart disease, gut health, and weight loss.

As a registered dietitian with a deep-rooted love for food, Kayleen is passionate about sharing a simplified method for approaching culinary nutrition, and demystifying nutrition science as a whole. She developed the Culinary Nutrition Certificate Program at Natural Gourmet Institute and collaborated with Vegetarian Times magazine to develop and instruct the ‘Foundations of Plant-Based Nutrition’ online course, which covers the fundamentals of nutrition and plant-centric cooking techniques. I hope you can join us on Thursday for a great conversation and some great tips.
