iEat Green is Headed to Washington for the Upcoming Women’s March on October 17th! iEat Green Welcomes Amie Hamlin, the Director for the Coalition of Healthy School Food

The Women’s March is just around the corner, and we need everyone (men and women) to show up and let your voices be heard!! On Saturday, October 17th, the Women’s March is organizing a huge, nationwide March and Protest to oppose the President and Congress from filling the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court, along with the other guiding principles that the organization has set forth, including;

  • Ending Violence
  • Reproductive Rights
  • LGBTQIA Rights
  • Worker Rights
  • Civil Rights
  • Disability Rights
  • Immigrant Rights
  • Environmental and Racial Justice

The organization’s main event will be the March on Washington, with other marches and rallies happening across the country.

If you can’t find a march in your area, you can organize one!

To add a bit of drama to the day, order a Handmaid’s costume, to send a clear message that we don’t want our country to fall into the hands of The Republic of Gilead, which is the totalitarian patriarchal theocracy that rules over most of the former continental United States in The Handmaid’s Tale, and a Republic that our country is looking more and more like.

Amie Hamlin, the Director for the Coalition of Healthy School Food will Join Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network!

I invited Amie on my show to share the great work they are doing to get healthy food into the kids in New York, especially during the pandemic. When the pandemic first hit, The Coalition for Healthy School Food partnered up with many vegan restaurants in the city, and distributed free meals to any child in need. It was amazing to see how quickly they were able to mobilize and get food to those in need!

Amie co-founded The Coalition for Healthy School Food 17 years ago, after writing and getting passed unanimously, a New York State legislative resolution for healthy plant-based school food and nutrition education. As the Executive Director, she is responsible for growing the organization and fundraising. Their main fundraising event is their Annual Gala, which like most galas this year will be Virtual. They will be hosting a Pre-Gala Summit from October 24th – 27th, with the Virtual Gala on October 28th. I hope you can join us to learn more about this wonderful organization and hear more info about their Gala.
