An Interview with Toyin Coker, Founder & Director of The Permaculture Project PTA

Hi Everyone,

It finally feels like Spring has arrived! I spent this past weekend focusing on my garden, first by joining the folks at Fox Hollow Farm for their Seedling Workshop, and then working with a few volunteers to clean out my rows and add lots of compost to the garden. It felt great to be back in the soil! I’m also prepping the straw bales from the workshop a few weeks ago, so that I will have additional space for growing this year. Lastly, I ordered everything I need to raise bees. I am planning on starting with 2 bee hives. Wish me luck!

If you haven’t ordered your tickets to the Slow Food Dinner “East Meets East” on April 21st, you should do so now. Space is limited and they are going fast! In addition to the great menu designed by the folks at the West East Bistro, we have Macari Vineyards pouring wine and Blind Bat Brewery pouring beer! It’s going to be a great night. To purchase tickets, go to http://eastmeetseast-eorg.eventbrite.com/

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Toyin Coker, a mover and a shaker from Toronto! I met Toyin this past Fall at Terra Madre in Italy, and I knew by listening to her comments, that she was someone I wanted to interview. The work she is doing in building community through events and Permaculture, while educating people about our food system and the politics around food, is truly inspiring. Please join me on Thursday, to hear about the work Toyin is doing.
