iEat Green: An Interview with Patti Wood

Hi Everyone,

Today I had a great interview with Patti Wood, the Executive Director of Grassroots Environmental Education, a 501 c3 organization, dedicated to educating the public about the links between common environmental exposures and human health. For over 25 years, she has focused on the school Screen Shot 2014-01-23 at 4.07.14 PMenvironment, especially in regards to pesticides on the lawn, cleaning products in the schools and diesel exhaust from the buses. Due to Patti’s hard work, legislation was passed in New York State that prevents schools from using pesticides on the lawn, petroleum based cleaning products in the schools or allowing buses to idle, while waiting for students to load.? Her current work is focusing on the fracking issue in New York State, not only to prevent the drilling, but also to keep the fracking waste from being stored here. Right now, there are already toxic dumping ponds in upstate NY,? filled with the radio-active water from Pennsylvania! Please have a listen to our interview, to find out about all of the hidden environmental toxins that we have in our daily lives.
