iEat Green: An Interview with Ellen Kamhi

My ?interview with Ellen Kamhi was an eye-opening account of the intense planning and thought that goes into the timing and release of certain studies. Ellen reminded us that those in charge of our health and agriculture have deep ties to the bio-tech companies. The revolving door syndrome is more prevalent than ever. It is by no accident that the timing of the release of the study that said organic foods were no better for your health than conventional foods, was released right at the same time that Proposition 37, which would require genetically engineered foods to be labeled, was up for vote in California. Ellen took the time to look at the actual study, which listed all the benefits of eating organic foods, but which had conveniently been left out of articles written about the study. The study stated that by eating organic food you can significantly reduce exposure to pesticide residues and that by consuming organic food you can reduce the risk of exposure to antibiotic resistant disease causing bacteria by approximately 33%.
