iEat Green: An Interview with Byrant Terry

Hi All,

Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Bryant Terry, a vegan chef, food activist and author of many cookbooks. I found his new cookbook, Afro-Vegan, truly inspiring, because it was filled with ingredients and spices that are unfamiliar to me, and will give me a whole new grouping of flavors and foods to experiment with. Bryant’s work with inner city kids, teaching them about healthy eating and growing vegetables, made him realize that they were totally unconnected to their food traditions, culture and history, and he wanted to change that. This inspired him to research and connect his Afro-American culture with the food traditions of his past to create this wonderful new cookbook, Afro-Vegan.
