Tell Congress to Support Conservation in the Farm Bill

We are talking about $8 billion dollars a year! This funding supports clean water, healthy soils, wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation, and flood protection.

For the last three years, Congress has only extended this funding one year at a time, continuing a cycle of uncertainty for farmers who want to put conservation practices in action. This is our chance to secure a strong, five-year Farm Bill so conservation can get the long-term support it needs.

The Nature Conservancy is urging us to tell the Senate to pass it ASAP. This is one of their top priorities on Capitol Hill right now, and it’s one of ours too!!

Take action now and urge your Senators to take action immediately.

We all agree that there is not enough regulation and protection from chemicals in our food! Our government would rather allow corporations to add undisclosed chemicals into our food, than to set laws regulating them.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is soliciting donations to support advocacy for stricter food safety regulations and to combat undisclosed chemicals in consumer products. The first initiative is to close the “GRAS” loophole. GRAS stands for “Generally Recognized as Safe” and this allows food companies to add new substances into our food supply without testing that they are safe, and without FDA knowledge.  The second initiative is banning harmful additives like potassium bromate, which California outlawed in 2024. Then there is the issue of synthetic food dyes, like Red #3, which RFK asked food corporations to voluntarily remove, and we know how that will go!  As one of our food and health watchdogs, CSPI has been advocating for better regulation of food chemicals for years—and they just made major progress in New York, passing a bill that could become the largest reform to food chemical policy since 1958. However, industry lobbyists are spending millions trying to defeat the “GRAS” bill in New York State, while Gov. Hochul considers signing it into law.

Tell Governor Hochel to sign the “GRAS” Bill and consider donating to CSPI!!

As of May 2026, the New York State Legislature has passed the Food Safety and Chemical Disclosure Act (S1239F/A1556G), which is now awaiting Governor Kathy Hochul’s signature. The bill aims to overhaul the “Generally Recognized as Safe” (GRAS) loophole and bans specific chemicals, including Red Dye 3, potassium bromate, and propylparaben, in food sold in the state.
