We Need People Power to Ban Monsanto’s Roundup Weedkiller!

The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed glyphosate, the active chemical in Roundup, as a probable carcinogen, and it has been linked to cancer and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. However, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has chosen to contradict the World Health Organization, stating that there is no risk to public health from glyphosate if it is used in accordance with label instructions, and that is is not a carcinogen. It is infuriating!

That is why we need everyone to push our States to ban the product. In NYC, there is legislation pending that will ban the use of glyphosate in parks and public spaces, but that is not enough!

TAKE ACTION: Make your state the first to ban Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller!

I was shocked to read the exposé in Rolling Stone which describes the veil of secrecy from the nearly trillion gallons in toxic waste produced by the oil & gas industry every year.

Even though NYS has banned fracking, we still allow the toxic waste from Pennsylvania to be dumped here, and we still are building pipelines and infrastructure to support the industry. The article documents in disturbing detail the dangerous levels of radioactivity in the waste and the pain and suffering it causes to workers handling it and to community members where it is dumped. In many parts of the state, they allow this toxic waste to be spread on roads as an ice deicer, which then leaches into the ground, polluting the soil and water.
