Take Action: Divest Monsanto Now, NY State Energy Plan Comment Form, Oppose the New Anti-GE Labeling Act

Divest Monsanto Now!

As the manufacturer of Agent Orange, DDT, PCPs and dioxin, Monsanto?s toxic legacy of harm to the environment and human health is without parallel. Now Monsanto owns patents on life and is genetically engineering the food that we eat. In the past 2 years alone, Monsanto has helped fund massive misinformation campaigns to the tune of $70 million to defeat GMO labeling. Monsanto claims that GMOs and their weedkiller Roundup are perfectly safe. So why are they fighting GMO labeling in the U.S.? Unfortunately, if you have a retirement fund, 401K or mutual funds you could be profiting from Monsanto?s toxic products. Tell your friends and family it?s time to take the Monsanto stock plunge and divest from Monsanto?s toxic products! Friends don’t let Friends invest in Monsanto.

NY State Energy Plan Comment Form

On January 7, the Cuomo administration released a draft, New York State Energy Plan. The public comment period concludes on April 30, after which the plan will be finalized. Click here to submit a comment urging Governor Cuomo to lead on climate change and ban fracking! Some key talking points to include are that the draft plan supports a massive build-up of pipelines, compressor stations, LNG facilities, and other fracking-related infrastructure. The draft plan maintains New York’s reliance on dirty fossil fuels, failing to transition the state to renewable energy and ultimately opens the door to fracking in New York.

A new anti-GE labeling bill that?s so bad it has been dubbed it the Deny Americans the Right to Know ? or DARK ? Act has just been introduced in Congress. The bill would prevent states from GMo wheatadopting their own GE labeling laws, block any attempt by states to make it illegal for food companies to put a ?natural? label on products that contain GE ingredients, and prevent the Food and Drug Administration from requiring companies to label GE ingredients and instead continue a failed ?voluntary? labeling policy. It would also block states from requiring labeling of GE ingredients and even let foods with GE ingredients be labeled “natural.? Tell your representative that you deserve to know the truth about what you’re eating!
