Take Action: Call to World Leaders to Prevent Catastrophic Climate Change; Protect The Grand Canyon; Stop Monsanto’s Dream Bill

Call to World Leaders to Prevent Catastrophic Climate Change

800px-Annual_Average_Temperature_MapThe United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris is only a few weeks away. This global conference is our last chance to tackle catastrophic climate change. If the negotiations fail, there is no plan B — COP21 is effectively the end of the line. When world leaders meet for COP21 they must commit to effective and practical steps to prevent average global temperature increases of above 2°C. According to climate scientists, existing pledges by governments fall short of achieving this target. Please sign the petition and tell them you want action now.

Protect The Grand Canyon1024px-Grandcanyon_view5

The development that road and utility access is designed to enable is considered by Grand Canyon National Park to be one of the gravest threats to the Park in its nearly 100-year history. That’s because the resort will likely require groundwater pumping that could lower aquifer levels and reduce flows of seeps and springs. That water supports wildlife and recreation on the Park’s South Rim the most popular entryway for millions of visitors each year. Sign the petition to appose this project.

Stop Monsanto’s Dream Bill

Monsanto pesticide to be sprayed on food crops.Ninety percent of Americans want genetically engineered (GMO) foods labeled, but big food companies like Monsanto, Nestlé, Dow and Pepsi are fighting hard to keep us in the DARK about what we’re eating. They’re worried that GMO labels will cut into their profits if we’re able to make more informed choices about what we buy at the grocery store. The bill already passed the House, so we must stop it in the Senate. We need to make sure Senators hear from their actual constituents, since they’re already hearing from the industry lobbyists. It’s our right to know what is in our food, and corporations should not keep us in the dark. Sign the petition.
