In the News: Join the Eat Well Challenge by Bringing Mindfulness to the Table!

Over the years, I have written about my struggle with dieting and how the feelings of deprivation made me depressed. Dieting never worked for me, and it doesn’t work for most people. What did work for me, was changing my outlook on eating, and bringing mindfulness to the table. Slowing down, savoring my food, becoming aware of how the food made me feel, and choosing foods that would support a healthy body, all worked together in harmony, so that I didn’t need to diet anymore. Choosing a diet high in fruits and vegetables is better for your health, and better for the planet, but one needs to make a conscious effort to make that change. Today, in the New York Times, there is a great article about re-training your mind to re-shape your habits, and to bring mindfulness into your daily life. The article offers tips and exercises to help you become successful, and an opportunity to have support while giving it a try. This New Year, say good bye to dieting and hello to eating healthier and loving yourself!
