Who gets to make decisions when it comes to public health? It used to be doctors, or public health experts or agencies, but now it seems to be in the arena of a judge! How can one judge strike down a mask requirement for plane, bus and train passengers, at the same time the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention decided to extend the mask rule to last at least until May 3? There is great concern that this will set a precedent that erodes the authority of public health agencies and hampers their ability to respond to health emergencies.
