iEat Green’s “Thanksgiving Feast for the Less Fortunate” Adjusts to COVID; Iain Tolhurst, Founder of Tolhurst Organic Farm, Joins Bhavani on PRN!

Hi All,

I am very sad to inform all of you that this years Thanksgiving Feast for Those in Need will NOT BE HAPPENING as usual!

For the past 25 years, iEat Green has partnered with the River Fund NY to prepare a homemade Thanksgiving Feast for those in need. This year, due to the pandemic, we will not be able to prepare our homemade meal, but we will still be collecting turkeys for the River Fund NY to distribute, along with coats, blankets, and other winter items that are still needed.

Therefore, PLEASE HELP ME in collecting turkeys, and warm clothing for those who are hungry and need a hand during the holidays. Clothing can be dropped off at the iEat Green Homestead, and turkeys will be collected on Sunday, November 22nd, and Monday, November 23rd.

Iain Tolhurst, Founder of Tolhurst Organic Farm, Joins Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Netwotk!

Tolhurst Organic is an organic farm in the UK, located in south Oxfordshire, between the Chilterns and the river Thames. The farm is made up of 17 acres over two fields and 2 acres within a 500 year old walled garden. Iain has been farming there for over 30 years, with his business partner Lin, making Tolhurst Organic one of the longest running organic vegetable farms in England. Their farm was the first to attain the ‘Stockfree Organic’ symbol in 2004, which means they don’t use any animal inputs at all, making their farming completely vegan.

They supply a wide range of organic fruit and vegetables through their box share, farm shop and stalls at local markets. The farm hosts farm walks, seminars and community events, as well as onsite catering. Iain also runs a consultancy service, giving advice on organic conversion and production, and helping to train and educate farmers and growers for the future.

I hope you can join us on Thursday and learn about growing vegetables without any animal inputs!
