iEat Green Wants to Thanks Everyone Who Came Out to the Long Island CSA Fair! Why I Decided to Get the Vaccine. Laura Lengnick, Author of “Resilient Agriculture: Cultivating Food Systems for a Changing Climate Will Be Joining Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network!

Hi Everyone,

I am still flying high from Saturday’s CSA Fair! It was so wonderful to see all of our farming community together (we missed a few of you) and all of the people who came out to support the fair.  It’s been so long since we have been able to have an event, and everyone was thankful to be outdoors, in the sunshine, sampling delicious food, learning about the various CSA programs, and even getting their knives sharpened.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and thank you in advance for continuing to support our local farmers, local producers, and local store owners. If we don’t support them, they won’t be here when we need them!

For a more charged topic, I want to talk about the Covid-19 vaccine.

There are pros and cons for getting it, and I have been on the fence for weeks. However, I just came back from getting my first Pfizer dose, and I must admit that I feel like I gave in to something I didn’t really agree with. It’s not that I am against all vaccinations, because I am not. They certainly have their place and I’m thankful that people are no longer dying from small box and polio. However, I do feel that children receive too many vaccines, and I think allowing children to get some of the natural childhood diseases can help teach their immune systems how to fight off disease. I also question the safety of combining so many drugs together. Currently, children are given vaccinations for 15 diseases by the time they are six, many with multiple doses. There is no way to test for how all these vaccinations interact with each other, and the testing is left up to the pharmaceutical companies who are the ones that will financially benefit from their approval. It’s like the fox guarding the chicken coop!  Some children do have negative reactions after taking a vaccine, and the fact that the medical profession wants to play that down, just adds to peoples suspicion. Back in the 1980’s, our government established the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, to relieve pharmaceutical companies from being held accountable, and to settle claims from parents whose children had negative reactions from vaccines. They wouldn’t have done that if there wasn’t a problem. I strongly believe parents should have the right to educate themselves on the pros and cons of each vaccine, and make their own educated decision for their children.

All that being said, I still decided to go ahead and get the Covid-19 vaccine. Why? Because I am desperate for life to return to normal and I didn’t want to be left out of group gatherings, just because I wasn’t vaccinated. I know that might sound like a cop-out to my many followers who don’t believe in vaccines, but it is my truth. I pray that I didn’t make a mistake, and that my strong immune system will be able to fight off any negative effects that the vaccine may cause. And for my followers who do believe in the vaccine, I wish you all a safe experience in getting it, and I look forward to being together in person again!

As suggested by my homeopath, and as an added precaution, I took Ledum 30 C before and after the injection and a few hours later for my sore arm. Today I will take Thuja Occidental 200 C twice a day to offset any undesirable response for a few days. Good Luck!
