iEat Green Shares Interview with the Executive Director of Green Beetz, Nellie Thompson-Kapur!

Hi All,

I just finished my interview with Nellie Thompson Kapur, about the organization Green Beetz, and the work that they do. Green Beetz is a non-profit organization that empowers elementary and middle school students to navigate the modern food system and to make healthy and sustainable food choices. What excited me so much about their program, is that they make it available to teachers who are already working in the classroom, so that their programs can hit the ground running. The curriculum is STEM based, so it can be woven into everyone’s already existing lesson plans, and yet be taught through the lens of healthy food and sustainability. The program is designed with a lot of “hands on” learning, and is broken down into 4 basic modules; Food & The Environment, Food & The Body, The Big Business of Food, and Cooking Basics and the Culture of Food. To find out more information, and to see if your school is a good candidate for their program, go to their website at https://www.greenbeetz.org/
