iEat Green Shares Interview with Rick Anderson from BloomAgainBrooklyn!

I am so happy to have learned about BloomAgainBrooklyn!

BloomAgainBrooklyn is a non-profit organization committed to reducing social isolation and loneliness among vulnerable populations by creating connections and conversations through repurposed flowers.

Eight years ago, Rick’s wife Caroline saw an opportunity to repurpose flowers left over from an art opening, and in that moment, the idea for BloomAgainBrooklyn was born! Rick is their Chief Marketing Officer, and he brings years of experience in marketing communications and public relations to the table. Since BloomAgainBrooklyn‘s meager beginnings, they have blossomed into an organization with over 350 volunteers, 80 community partners, and service 7 nursing homes, a women’s shelter, front line workers, food pantries and more. They collect flowers from their community partners, including florists, retail stores, weddings and events, and bring them back to the two churches that give them space to create floral arrangement. Each month, they deliver between 1,500-1,800 personalized flower arrangements to their recipients.

Its a win/win/win for everyone!
