This past Thursday I had a great interview with Qiana Mickie, the Executive Director from Just Food.  Just Food, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to food justice and building a healthy food system. They work with small-scale farmers, producers, and community members to bring healthy food into historically marginalized neighborhoods. They work on building collective power that addresses the disparities in racial, social, and economic injustice, while supporting environmental justice. Qiana has helped to shift the mission of Just Food, to focus of Food Justice and to build out their network of CSA’s. They have added classes to teach leadership skills and chef skills, so that they can not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk.
