iEat Green Shares Interview with Dena Merriam, Founder of the Global Peace Initiative of Women and Author of “My Journey Through Time”

I had a wonderful interview this morning with Dena Merriam about the non-profit organization she founded called; The Global Peace Initiative of Women. Her original intention was to bring more women into the conversation of spirituality and peace, but quickly realized that the problems around food and the environment were at the root of many of the struggles plaguing societies today. Therefore, today, the Global Peace Initiative of Women primarily focuses on bringing a spiritual perspective into the conversations around environmental and food issues, working collaboratively to support solutions to these problems around the world. Recognizing the dysfunction in most governments, women are taking their collective power and influencing their local economy, by creating food systems that support their families, communities, and way of life. Personally, I am so excited to see the convergence of women, spirituality, food, and the environment, coming together to make a positive impact on our world! To find out more about the work of The Global Peace Initiative of Women, check out their website!

Dena is also the author of, My Journey Through Time: A Spiritual Memoir of Life, Death and Rebirth. We talked about how her past lives have informed the work she is currently doing, as well as how the work she is currently doing, is setting the path for her next life. It’s about Karma, the law of cause and effect, and it’s about letting go of the fear of death. It’s a beautiful book, and one I highly recommend.
