iEat Green Shares Interview with David Karr, the Co-Founder of Guayakí!

Hi All,

I had a great conversation with David Karr, the co-founder of Guayakí, the organic Yerba Mate drink that has awakened the senses and taken the beverage market by surprise. Yerba Mate is a tree in the rainforest that indigenous people have been drinking throughout history, loaded with anti-oxidants, vitamins and amino acids. It is believed to have special powers, that can heal allergies, and will unite and energize communities. What makes Guayakí stand out from other yerba mate drinks out there, is the partnerships they have formed in how they plant and harvest the trees, how they take it to market, and how they promote regenerative agriculture both here and abroad. They are using their platform, Come to Life Films, to tell the stories of the people who grow their product, and to expand their vision on regenerative agriculture as a way to mitigate climate change.

Whether stewarding South American Atlantic Rainforest’s through the sale of Yerba Mate or uplifting urban environmental initiatives, Guayakí supports the regeneration of ecosystems. In Los Angeles, during the month of October, they will connect the community of change-makers who are redefining our relationship with trees, tree planting, and educating the public on paths towards increasing our urban green spaces, by producing music events, community gatherings, interactive art experiences, and action days – all focused on social and environmental work supporting the regenerative movement. It’s a great company, doing great work!
