This morning I had an awesome conversation with Ellen Ecker Ogden., about her new book, The New Heirloom Garden, where she shares tips on the best tasting heirloom vegetables, the most fragrant flowers, old-fashioned herbs, and heirloom recipes. Ellen follows an 80/20% rule, where every year she experiments with a new variety of an heirloom vegetable. She starts with heirloom seeds, which are organic and open pollinated, and designs her gardens for beauty and flavor. 

The book has 12 different heirloom garden designs, starting with The Ark of Taste Garden, and ending with The Shaker Garden. Also included in the book are some of her favorite recipes, where vegetables are the star of the show!
