iEat Green is Envisioning a Warm Spring Day for our CSA Fair! Bhavani Welcomes Rameshwar Das, Co-Author of Ram Dass’s Memoir, “Being Ram Dass” to PRN!

Hi All,

I can’t believe our CSA Fair is less than 2 weeks away! I am praying that Saturday, March 13th is a warm Spring Day! We’ve been planning this for so many months, and I am really excited for our community of farmers to come together. For those of you who are still wondering what a CSA is, it stands for Community Supported Agriculture, and CSA’s are the best way to get local, organic vegetables in season, directly from the farmer, without the middle person. Every CSA is slightly different, so having all of the CSA farms in one location, at the same time, will allow the consumer to talk with each farmer and learn about their programs. Some of the questions you will want to be asking are;

Where do you pick up the produce? At the farm or a drop off point, closer to your house?

Do they offer only full shares or half shares too?

Do they have any add-ons; such as flowers, cheese, eggs, bread, meat, etc.?

Do they have a sliding scale or payment plan?

Do they have volunteer days or community events?

When you join a CSA, you are also joining a community, where you will have the opportunity to meet new friends, visit the farm, and expand your circle.

iEat Green, along with Slow Food North Shore and NOFA-NY are sponsoring this event. The event will be held outdoors, behind Building #4, at the Sisters of St. Joseph’s in Brentwood, and set up like a farmers market with plenty of room for social distancing. We have also arranged for the Green Street Food Truck and Mike and Son’s Knife Sharpening Truck to be on hand, to sharpen your knives and feed your bellies. There will be live music to keep the event rockin’! We hope you can join us!

Rameshwar Das, Co-Author of Ram Dass’s Memoir, “Being Ram Dass” Joins Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network

I am very excited to have Rameshwar Das returning to my show. He joined me back in 2013, after Polishing the Mirror was published, and I asked him to join me again, now that the latest book, Being Ram Dass, was just released. Rameshwar Das has been navigating a spiritual path for 50 years. Ramesh met Ram Dass in 1968, and spent time with Neem Karoli Baba in India from 1970-72. He learned Vipassana meditation from Goenka in India. Ramesh has worked as an artist, photographer, environmentalist and writer. He has collaborated on many projects with Ram Dass over the years, including the original Be Here Now and the Love Serve Remember recordings, and is co-author with Ram Dass on three books, Be Love Now (2010), Polishing the Mirror (2013), and Being Ram Dass (2021).

I just finished reading, Being Ram Dass, and was surprised by how much of his life I did not know. I first met Ram Dass in 1974, and Rameshwar Dass in 1976, and have heard many stories of Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba over the years, but I never get tired of them. It’s like sitting at the feet of the guru! Please join us on Thursday, as Rameshwar Das shares his experience of working with Ram Dass and the path of Love, Serve, Remember and Feed Everyone!
