#BootPruitt; Call Cuomo-Demand NY OFF Fossil Fuels; Stand Up for Human Rights

Take action now: Call your Representative and Tell them to #BootPruitt then share with friends and family.

Here is a sample script you can use:

Scott Pruitt is corrupt, a climate denier, a friend to polluters and an enemy of public health. The many scandals surrounding him prove that he’s unfit to lead the EPA. It’s past time for Pruitt to go. I demand that you and your colleagues in Congress ask Pruitt to step down. If he won’t, I ask you to support the impeachment of Pruitt and remove him yourselves.

#CallCuomo Mondays and Everyday!

Cuomo talks a lot about being an environmentalist, but he is not walking the talk. Please call him, thank him for banning fracking in NY State, but tell him to also ban all fracking infra-structure. Keep the pressure on! We want New York State #OffFossilFuels. Contact him by submitting a form online or phone his office directly at 1-518-474-8390.

We Still Need to Defend the Environment and Stop the Keystone Pipeline!

Everything we fought so hard to defeat is now coming back around again, thanks to Trump! “TransCanada’s long-resisted pipeline, intended to carry crude tar sand oil from Canada to Steele City, Nebraska, has been in the works since 2008, but construction still hasn’t started. The project continues to be hit with protests, lawsuits, and seemingly endless postponements. Activists are not giving up — and they’re using new and creative methods to fight the oil infrastructure. Here’s a quick rundown of how environmental and indigenous rights activists are still building blockades.”

CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND ASK THEM TO SUPPORT THE NEW YORK STATE FARMWORKERS FAIR LABOR PRACTICES ACT

Migrant farm workers harvesting yellow bell peppers near Gilroy, California. Crews like this may include illegal immigrant workers as well as members of the United Farm Workers Union founded by Cesar Chavez.

“The Justice for Farmworkers Campaign (JFW) is a statewide educational and legislative movement aimed at giving farmworkers the same rights that every other New York State worker receives. JFW supports the passage of the New York State Farmworkers Fair Labor Practices Act (S. 2721/A. 4189). The bill would grant farmworkers in New York State the most basic of labor protections, including: the right to collective bargaining, 8-hour work days, overtime pay, 24 hours of consecutive rest each week, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, and sanitation regulations for farm and food processing labor camps housing migrant workers. Your support is crucial to ensure the passage of this bill and this digital campaign toolkit will help you take action!” – Jobs For Justice

Speak Up Against Discriminatory Regulations and Defend Voting Rights For All

Our voting rights are under attack, and it’s time for companies that profess to share our values to stand up for Black people. Under the Trump administration, Republicans have dramatically increased their assault on our voting rights. In this week alone, the Supreme Court made it legal to purge Black people from the voter rolls and now in North Carolina they’re ramming through a constitutional amendment that would reinstate a racist voter ID law that was previously struck down by federal courts for disenfranchising Black people with almost surgical precision.

Amazon and Apple cannot stay quiet in the face of mounting attacks on our voting rights, not while both are considering North Carolina to build new headquarters. Building in North Carolina, if this discriminatory policy is enacted, would be an endorsement of, and commitment to the disenfranchisement and disempowerment of Black people by Amazon and Apple.

Demand Apple and Amazon oppose the North Carolina GOP’s latest attack on our freedom to vote.

Both companies have diversity-based messaging in their public facing brand as an integral part of their values. They cannot remain true to these values if they choose to build their next site in a state working to enshrine racism in its constitution. And Amazon has already shown that it is willing to take the rights of people into consideration when choosing their new headquarters. Earlier this year Amazon committed to ruling out states that oppress LGBTQ people. Now Amazon needs to step up and rule out states that oppress Black voters as well.

Tell Congress: Stand up for immigrant children and families

Please Share and Sign the petition!!

The petition to Congress reads:

“No child should be ripped from their parents arms. Pass the Humane Enforcement and Legal Protection for Separated Children Act now to protect the human rights of immigrant children and families in detention.”

Tell Congress: Stand up for immigrant children and families

Donald Trump’s cruel administration has reached a new low. Immigration enforcement agents have been ripping children away from their parents at the border and locking them up in literal cages. New York Times reports of rampant child abuse in detention facilities are rising and one immigrant parent even committed suicide. We need to put a stop to this barbaric practice now. Sen. Tina Smith and Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard have introduced legislation that would protect the rights of children and families in detention. Add your name now to demand that Congress advance this bill.
