An Interview with Will Allen, Founder of Growing Power

Hi Everyone,
I am so saddened by the passing of my friend Judy Martin, a News 12 anchor woman, and Phillip?Seymour?Hoffman. Both of them were so young, and had so much life left to live, yet it wasn?t meant for them. For what ever reason, beyond my understanding, their time on this planet was up, and they both will be missed. When people die earlier than the natural rhythm of life, it is a reminder to all of us, to savor each moment, because one never knows when their time is up.
This week, on The Progressive Radio Network , I am happy to welcome on as my guest, Will Allen, the Founder and CEO of Growing Power, a non-profit urban farm and teaching center in the heart of Milwaukee. Mr. Allen is a food advocate, believing that access to healthy food is a right for all people, regardless of one?s Will-Allen-Growing-Powereconomic circumstance. Will Allen was our keynote speaker at the 2011 Long Island Small Farm Summit, and he has inspired thousands of people to grow food, to compost, and to eat well. Mr. Allen was the first to introduce the concept of aquaponics to me, and he has over 100 hoop houses raising fish and fertilizing plants in a closed circuit system. It is all inspiring! Please join me on Thursday, at 10am EST, to listen to our interview, and learn from one of the great heroes of our time.
