I hope you are all managing to stay cool during this heat wave. Thank God for air conditioning. I don’t know how anyone could possibly be in the kitchen cooking, during this heat, without it!

The summer is flying by, and I have been so busy, that I made a decision not to go to the Rally for Independence from Fossil Fuel in DC this weekend. I do feel a little guilty, because my heart and passion is there, but at the same time, I am relieved. I am relieved to not spend 5 hours in the car each way (without traffic) and to march in the heat of DC! Instead, I am going to head out to the North Fork of Long Island to visit all of the farms and vineyards that I have not seen yet, and have dinner at the new home of our Slow Food members, 18 Bay Restaurant, on Shelter Island.
