We had a very interesting conversation about the  New York Health Act, which passed earlier this year in the Democratic-led Assembly. It still needs to pass in the Senate, which is the big challenge. The New York Health Act is a single-payer insurance plan that will make healthcare possible for all 20 million New Yorkers, regardless of their age, pre-existing conditions, or socio-economic class. Steven works with the Long Island Activists, which is a chapter of the New York Progressive Action Network (NYPAN), focusing on healthcare and mobilizing local communities to help get this piece of legislation passed.
