Stop Enbridge’s Illegal Tar Sands Pipeline Expansion Scheme

Enbridge_scheme_180x180The Obama Administration is on the verge of approving a new pipeline that mimics the Keystone XL Pipeline. The scheme allows Enbridge to bypass the approval process for expanding the capacity of its Clipper pipeline from 450,000 barrels per day to 880,000 and completes a system of three pipelines connecting Alberta tar sands to U.S. refineries which has been called the “Keystone XL Clone.” The President has said time and time again that he recognizes global warming as a serious problem, and we need to remind him that approving this expansion is not part of the green energy future. Please take the time to tell Obama how you feel and sign the petition to stop this pipeline expansion.

End Water Profiteering in Drought-Stricken Californiasave-our-water-180

In a radio interview you can listen to on 89.3KPPC where Tim Brown, CEO of Nestle Waters North America and Jay Famiglietti, hydrologist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and a professor of Earth System Science at UC Irvine, talk about water conservation. In the interview, Brown is asked if they would consider stopping bottling water from California. He actually says, “Absolutely not! In fact, if I could increase it, I would.” I don’t understand how he can publicly take that position. In this dire situation of the drought, and running out of reserve water, Brown obviously doesn’t care about the impact on the environment that Nestle is making. Please sign the petition and tell Nestle to stop contributing to the drought in California.

Fight for GMO Labeling by Opposing the DARK Act

GEcropsIf you haven’t done so already, I urge you to sign the petition to squash the DARK Act. The DARK Act stands for Deny Americans the Right to Know, and big food is lobbying hard to get it passed! It’s just another example of our government bowing down to big business, without regard for the health of the people. They just want what’s best for their careers, and that means allowing companies to get what they want, all in the name of profit! If this gets approved, it will prevent individual states from being allowed to pass laws mandating labeling of GMO products. The government wants to treat us like children, saying they don’t want to confuse us with too much information. Are they kidding? Since when can’t we read labels?  Please take the the time to sign your name on this petition and let’s win the fight.

Tell Bumble Bee Tuna to Stop Killing Sharkstunaillustrationv6

Tens of thousands of sharks, and other marine animals, die every year from the destructive fishing practices made by major tuna companies, one being Bumble Bee brand. They refuse to reveal their sourcing methods, even though they claim it to be “sustainable”. Too many companies are greenwashing their practices, throwing around words like sustainable and natural, without actually practicing them. The oceans are already threatened by overfishing, oil spills and power plant disasters, but irresponsible fishing is something we can stop!  Please sign the petition to tell Bumble Bee stop killing sharks.
