The Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT), founded by Jeffrey Smith, director of the recent documentary Genetic Roulette, is a world leader in educating policy makers and the public about genetically modified (GM) foods and crops.

In order to help consumers make informed decisions about the food they eat, IRT has developed a Non-GMO Shopper Guide. There are many ways to get informed. Take a moment to browse the online guide, sign up for a free PDF copy, purchase a pocket guide to take with you to the store, or download the free iPhone app!

Also don’t miss your chance, this week only, to watch the full screening of Genetic Roulette for free!

Find Local Sustainable Fish Guides

How do you know where to find sustainable fish? The Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program has put together regional pocket guides to help consumers know where to get seafood that is safe and sustainable. Food DayAttend or Host a Food Day Event

Food Day, a nationwide celebration and movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food, is Wednesday, October 24th! Last year, the first ever celebration of Food Day brought together thousands of people, all united by belief in a better food system. This year, local events are being organized all around the country.

There are over one hundred events organized in the New York metropolitan area alone — including the Crossroads Farm Fall Festival, right here on Long Island. Find an event to attend, or host an event of your own! Also check out Food Day resources like school curriculums and recipes cards that can help you celebrate Food Day in many ways.
