Take Action: The TPP Is Out, And It’s Worse Than We Thought; Stand Strong Against Monsanto’s Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015; Keep Fracking Out of Any Climate Agreement

The TPP Is Out, And It’s Worse Than We Thought

Stop_TPP_Capitol_Hill_CC_img-636x310If you haven’t heard of the TPP yet, it’s the Trans Pacific Partnership which is a trade agreement that is pro-corporations and anti-human rights. The 6,000+ page document was released yesterday. The TPP could cost us good paying jobs, increase fracking and unsafe food imports, and undermine democracy by giving corporations even more power. It seeks to use the same recipe that brought us the disastrous 2007 financial crisis. Congress will vote in the coming months on whether or not to approve the deal. We need to put the pressure on now and tell Congress we need to stop the TPP from being approved for the safety of the American people. Sign the petition now.

Stand Strong Against Monsanto’s Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015

UntitledThe Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015, sounds like a good idea, but don’t be fooled by the pretty wrapping that this deadly package contains. Right now, as Monsanto and its allies spend millions to lobby Congress to support, what we are calling, the DARK (Deny Americans the Right to Know) Act, not a single Democratic Senator has signed on to co-sponsor the bill. Without Democratic support, the DARK Act will likely fail to pass procedural hurdles to make it to the Senate floor for a vote. This is our chance to really put the pressure on the Senate and tell them the American people deserve the right to know what’s in our food. If you believe in food freedom then you need to sign this petition ad get involved now. Please sign!

Keep Fracking Out of Any Climate AgreementPollution_de_l'air

This coming December, world leaders will meet in Paris for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It is critical that world leaders create a bold agreement to keep fossil fuels in the ground. In particular, fracked natural gas and oil cannot be part of any climate solution. The oil and gas industry touts fracked gas as a “bridge fuel” and a “climate solution,” but this is not true. The industry has spent millions pushing their disastrous pro-fracking message forward, but there is a growing consensus that fracking is inherently dangerous and destructive to our communities and climate.
