Help Bring to Light Research That Could Save the Bees

Bee_126The USDA is supposed to protect our food system, not Big Ag’s profits. But instead, it’s working hard to suppress research that could hurt pesticide giants like Bayer and Syngenta. Here’s what’s happening: Dr. Jonathan Lundgren, a senior scientist at the USDA, produced research that questioned the safety of bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides — a leading driver of global bee declines. But the USDA is trying to bury those findings. Please sign the petition today to help expose this research.

In a secret, backroom deal, Congress sneaked language into a must-pass defense bill to transfer sacred Native American lands in Arizona to a multinational copper mining company. For years, Republican lawmakers in Arizona have tried to give away the national forest in and around the Apache holy land of Oak Flat to the foreign-owned Resolution Copper, a company with “dismal human rights and environmental records.” Since Oak Flat sits on large copper reserves, Resolution Copper’s highly destructive plan to mine the area will create a crater two miles wide and 1,000 feet deep. Sign the petition to help the Native Americans.

Save The Wolves

Raven_the_wolf_licks_a_visitorOnly 110 of these wolves are estimated to remain in the wild. Tell the Department of the Interior and the Fish and Wildlife Service to create a strong recovery plan now! The fight is going on in court to keep this ultra-rare subspecies of the gray wolf from extinction. But today your help is needed to put additional pressure on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department of Interior. The Fish and Wildlife Service is finally beginning work on a recovery plan for the endangered Mexican gray wolf, an iconic species of the American Southwest. But anti-wildlife politicians are attempting to block progress, and these wolves are at risk of being wiped out completely. Please sign the petition today to help these wolves be saved from extinction.
