Take Action: Call Your Senators to Say No to the DARK Act 2.0; Tell Your Representatives to Pass the WATER Act; Tell Tyson to Stop Polluting our Water

Call Your Senators to Say No to the DARK Act 2.0

market-1154999_960_720The July 1st deadline for Vermont’s GMO labeling law has passed, but that doesn’t mean our work is done. The Food Babe has a great explanation here as to why this new version of the DARK Act is still a really horrible piece of legislation. Not surprisingly, the Organic Trade Association (OTA) has spoken out in favor of this new bill, which confirms we can’t rely on the OTA to protect us, or most governmental or corporate organizations to fight for what’s right. We need to speak up on our own and demand change ourselves. Follow this link to find your Senators’ contact information and let them know you will not support them if they support Senator Pat Roberts’ and Senator Debbie Stabenow’s new national GMO labeling bill.

Tell Your Representatives to Pass The Water Act

The WATER Act — Water Affordability, Transparency, Equity and Reliability – willwater-49024__180provide dedicated funding to keep our water and sewer systems up to date and protect our drinking water for generations to come. Many U.S. water pipes are aging, some being as old or older than Model T cars and made of lead. We need to pass The WATER Act to provide clean water to all American citizens. Sign the petition and share with your networks to tell your representatives to pass The WATER Act!

Tell Tyson to Stop Polluting Our Water

chicken-1230969_960_720Tyson has a long history of dumping contaminants into our waterways, and we need it to stop. According to Environment New York, Tyson‘s processing facilities alone dumped 104 million pounds of pollutants into U.S. waterways between 2010 and 2014 — more than Exxon, Dupont, and Koch Industries in the same period!! This creates fishkills and water too contaminated to swim in or drink. Factory farming is horrible no matter what angle you look at it from, water pollution, animal abuse, antibiotics and GMOs, very low quality products – there’s no redeeming qualities. Tell Tyson to stop polluting our waters and stop factory farming!
