My Interview with Elena Mihaly from the Conservation Law Foundation and Priya Morganstern from the Pro Bono Partnership, Inc.

Hi All,

Yesterday I had the pleasure of talking with two wonderful lawyers who have designed their legal careers as matchmakers. Their jobs entail matching the right specialty, pro bono lawyer, for a particular company or organization doing good work in the community.

Elena Mihaly works for the Conservation Law Foundation in their Healthy Communities and Environmental Justice Program, focusing on their Food and Farm Initiative. She was instrumental in launching their Legal Services Food Hub, which is a pro bono legal clearinghouse for farmers and food entrepreneurs in the New England area. If you live in the New England area, and are involved in the good food arena, you should definitely check them out!

Priya Morganstern is the Program Director for the Pro Bono Partnership, Inc. in Hartford, CT., and primarily works on public interest law. Her organization has a two prong mission, to offer free legal council to non profit organizations that need the help, and to offer opportunities to lawyers who want to give back to their community. I was surprised to find out that lawyers actually have an ethical obligation to do pro bono work. Who would have known? The Pro Bono Partnership has offices in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, and is always looking for organizations that would benefit from their services.

Listen below, and find out more information about these wonderful women.
