GMO Truth’s and Myth’s in a Short Video

Here is a quick video by Dr. Mercola that breaks down the truth about GMO’s, precisely what Monsanto won’t tell you. Please watch!

Another Synthetic Sugar, Allulose, Soon To Be Used In Processed Foods

461492463_d1Yet again, some scientist, somewhere, decided that they can make a better artificial sweetener than the guy before. Time and time again this has been disastrous. One after the other they assure the public that it’s “safe,” and yet they turn out to be cancer causing. When will they learn? This one is called DOLCIA PRIMA® Allulose. Another name for it is D-Psicose. The prime market is not “direct-to-consumers” but to food processors who will use it as an ingredient in all sorts of processed foods. “Allulose meets the specification set forth in GRN 498 and is therefore generally recognized as safe (GRAS).” The syrup is about 54% as sweet as sucrose (table sugar), but is about 70% sweet as sugar in a dry solid basis.

90 Percent of What We Eat Could Come From Local FarmsDigging The Vegetable Garden

A couple of researchers wanted to find out if it’s really possible to eat locally all the time and for it to still be sustainable and of course feed the planet. They did find that eating locally for most of  your diet is absolutely entirely possible. The researchers looked at every acre of active farmland in the U.S., regardless of what it’s used for, and imagined that instead of growing soybeans or corn for animal feed or syrup, it was used to grow vegetables. (Currently, only about 2 percent of American farmland is used to grow fruits or vegetables.)
