iEat Green’s Interview with Saru Jayaramen, Author of “Behind the Kitchen Door”

Hi All,

Unfortunately, The PRN studios are not yet up and running, so I had to re-schedule my interview with Diane Hatz from TEDx Manhattan to after the event. Stay tuned for when that will be!

In the meantime, with the screening of Food Chains coming up this Sunday, at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, I thought it would be appropriate to re-play my interview with Saru Jayaramen, author of Behind the Kitchen Door, and the Director of the Food Labor Research Center and Restaurant Opportunities Centers United?(ROC). After 9/11, Saru became the “angel” for the all of the?displaced World Trade Center food workers, and she, along with Fekkak Mamdouh, co-founded ROC in New York, which has organized?restaurant workers to win workplace justice campaigns,?conduct research and policy work, partner with responsible?restaurants, and launch cooperatively-owned restaurants. Saru is an amazing speaker and an inspiration, and it is my pleasure to share with you our interview from last year.
