iEat Green Prepares for the 20th Annual Thanksgiving Feast for the Homeless, and Interviews Joanna Macy, Author, Activist and Founder of the Work that Reconnects

Hi Everybody,

I am busy at work putting together all of the details that goes into collecting, shopping and cooking for the needy. The only thing missing are all of the volunteers needed to make it happen. Each year, I reach out into my community, and ask for your help and support to make this event a success, and I have never been disappointed. iEat Green partners with the River Fund NY Food Pantry, a 501c3 organization, that has been providing food and dignity to some of the cities most needy residents, and iEat Green is proud to be a part of it! In addition to all of the food we cook, we collect coats, hats, gloves, blankets and other winter items, to help these residents stay warm during the coldest months of the year. If you have coats to donate, please email me at Bhavani@iEatGreen.com to arrange for a drop off or pick up, or if you want to volunteer, sign up here.

I am very excited to welcome on my show this week, Joanna Macy, a long time activist and author of the newly revised book, Coming Back to Life. This book helps people transform denial, despair and grief in the face of the social, ecological and global challenges of our time, within a spiritual and cognitive context.? Joanna has been working tirelessly for decades to motivate people to take action. Her groundbreaking workshops and methodology, the Work that Reconnects, has trained thousands of people around the world. Her work helps people transform despair and apathy, in the face of overwhelming social and ecological crises, into constructive, collaborative action. It brings a new way of seeing the world, as our larger living body, freeing us from the assumptions and attitudes that now threaten the continuity of life on Earth. Please join me on Thursday, as I interview Joanna Macy on the Progressive Radio Network.? JoannaMacy
