As the co-chair for Slow Food Huntington for the past 7 years, ?our local Slow Food Chapter, we have been discussing whether or not we should change our name. Many people think that Slow Food Huntington is only for people who live in and around the Huntington area. Being that the only other chapter on Long Island is all the way out on the East End, we want to be more inclusive, and have our name represent that. Unfortunately, Slow Food Long Island is not an option, in case another chapter wants to form down the road, but we can use Long Island in the name. So, I am looking for feed back from my friends, family and community. Please let me know what you think! We can become Slow Food Huntington Long Island, Slow Food Central Long Island, Slow Food Nassau-Western Suffolk ( with or without Long Island), or Slow Food Gold Coast Long Island. Please send me your opinions, and let me know what you think.
