Tell Governor Hochul to Protect Our Environment and Reject the Expansion of Fracked Gas Pipelines!
New York State has banned fracking and has rejected the expansion of pipelines until now!
Over 5 years ago, New York State denied permits for the Williams NESE Pipeline to be built, stating that the pipeline, which would run along the coast of NY beaches, posed too great a risk.
The Williams Constitution Pipeline, which was rejected 9 years ago, would run through the southern tier of the Catskills, and the Enbridge Algonquin (AIM) Pipeline would run through Rockland and Westchester Counties. All of these pipelines were rejected years ago because of their potential damage to our land, waterways, marine life, and human health. Most pipelines leak, and some can explode or be the target of terrorism. A decision was made to prioritize and protect human health and the environment, and to promote alternative methods of energy.
Since then, New York State has passed the CLCPA (Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act) to address climate change and move our state towards a zero emission goal. Allowing these pipelines to be built would be going in the wrong direction and against the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act of 2019.
Governor Hochul is bowing down to Trump, and is considering issuing permits for these pipelines.
Please call her office and Tell Governor Hochul to Keep Fracking Out of NYS and to Stop Approving Fracked Gas Pipelines!

The Big Ugly Bill has Passed the Senate and is Now on Its Way Back to the House for Approval. Tell Your Representatives to Vote it DOWN!!
As I’m sure most of you have heard, the Budget Bill which passed in the House last week, was voted on on Tuesday in the Senate, and it was a tie, 50/50. Vice President Vance got to make the deciding vote, and the bill passed 51 to 50. Now it has to go back to the House so they can vote on the updated bill.
This bill is a disaster for most Americans. It’s Robinhood in reverse! It funds tax breaks and subsidies for the wealthy by taking money from programs that help the neediest families in America, like SNAP and Medicaid.
Below are a few of the things that this budget reconciliation bill would do:
- Gutting SNAP funding which 15% of NYers rely on to get their nutritional needs met
- Reducing the amount of $$$ flowing through our food system – SNAP accounts for 7.7 billion in economic activity in NY each year
- Increasing payments to commodity support programs (Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC)) that 78% of NY small and mid-size farmers are ineligible to receive
- Lifting commodity support payment and income limits for corporately owned farms but not for the vast majority of NY farms which are family owned (over 80%)
Please contact your House Representative, as well as House Representatives in Red Districts, and tell them to not pass this bill!
