Take Action: Stop the Dumping of Fracking Waste in New York!

New York may have banned fracking in the state, but due to a loophole in the law, we import toxic and hazardous fracking waste from other states, and dump it into New York State landfills!

These landfills are not equipped to handle unregulated toxic waste, some of which is radioactive. The New York State Legislature just passed a bill that would close the loophole and protect the health of New Yorker’s by ensuring that oil and gas industry waste is subject to the same reporting requirements and safe treatment as other industrial waste. This bill would also ensure that fracking waste cannot be used to melt ice on New York State’s roadways. (That practice is already banned from Long Island)

Send a message to Governor Cuomo telling him to sign this critical bill to protect public health and regulate the disposal of dangerous fracking waste.
