Ban Pesticides Causing Childhood Cancer!
A growing body of scientific research from the U.S. and around the world shows a troubling pattern: exposure to pesticides is linked to childhood cancer.
In France, children living near vineyards face the highest risk of leukemia. Similar patterns appear in the United States, where studies from both Western and Midwestern agricultural regions show elevated cancer rates among children who live near farms. And this isn’t limited to vineyards or a single crop — carcinogenic pesticides are widely used across many types of agriculture nationwide. Studies consistently show that children who live in or near agricultural areas face significantly higher cancer risks than those who do not.
Children are especially vulnerable to these chemicals. Research shows that exposure during pregnancy and early childhood is particularly dangerous, increasing the risk of leukemia, brain tumors, nervous system cancers, and other serious childhood cancers. In many cases, the risk rises sharply when families live close to where pesticides are regularly applied.
Across numerous studies, scientists have identified strong associations between commonly used agricultural chemicals and increased rates of childhood cancer. These findings have remained consistent over time and across different populations, reinforcing concerns about the long-term health impacts of pesticide use on developing bodies.
The evidence is clear: allowing widespread use of carcinogenic pesticides puts children at risk — especially those living in farming communities.
It’s time to act. Please support stronger protections for children, advocate for safer agricultural practices, and speak up for policies that reduce pesticide exposure. Our kids’ health — and their future — depend on it.
