The House of Representatives passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” last month. This bill is incredibly damaging to our food security and farm resilience. The bill includes cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and a reduction in access to programs that offer climate-resilient farming practices to small and medium sized farms. It also includes major investments into deportation efforts, which also effects our food security, considering that nearly 40% of the farm workers in our country are undocumented. The government likes to paint the picture that these undocumented workers are taking jobs away from Americans, but that is not true! Unemployment is at a record low, and most Americans don’t want to be a farmworker, with low pay, no benefits, and long hours in the heat!  

The bill currently sits in the Senate for approval. There is still time for us to call our Senators and tell them to oppose the “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act. (Which is definitely not Beautiful!)

This Saturday, June 14th, All Across America, We the People Will Rise Up!! Attend a No Kings Day Protest Near You, and Let Our Government Officials Know “WE DO NOT APPROVE!!”

As Trump throws himself a lavish military parade (spending over 40 million dollars of tax payers money), those of us who don’t approve will be protesting in the streets all across America! We need to protest Trumps authoritarian vision of himself and show him what Democracy looks like! I will be marching in Mineola. Where will you be?
