Call You Senators TODAY, and Stop the 2025 Trump Budget Bill from Passing!!
As I wrote about “In the News” the Trump 2025 Budget Bill is a disaster, and if it passes in the Senate, it will become the new domestic agenda for this administration.
Here are a few key elements in the plan:
- 3.8 trillion in tax cuts (benefiting his millionaire friends)
- SALT- The State & Local Tax Deduction cap would be lifted from $10,000 to $40,000 for married couple who make less than $500,000.
- No Taxes on Tips or Overtime, and allowing to deduct interest on car loans if the car was a “made in USA car”
- Work requirements for Medicaid and changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP
- Lift the Debt Ceiling- raising it by 4 Trillion Dollars
- Ending Tax credits for Clean Energy
- It allocates $46.5 billion toward completing Trump’s border wall, $5 billion for Customs and Border Protection facilities, and more than $6 billion to hire and retain more agents and officers. The legislation also invests in upgraded technology for screenings and surveillance of U.S. borders. (Did you know that it costs over $100,000 per person, per day, to have an immigrant at Guantanamo Bay?)
- $1,000 price tag to apply for asylum from people who have nothing! Along with increased fees for work visas, $3,500 fee for sponsoring unaccompanied children without legal status, a $1,000 charge for undocumented individuals paroled into the U.S. and a $500 fee for those applying for temporary protected status.

The Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act (S1464/A1749) would force big polluters to reduce single-use plastic by 30 percent over the next decade, eliminate dangerous toxins like PFAS
and lead from packaging, and fund real recycling infrastructure. (Not like the recycling programs we have now!) It’s one of the most important waste reduction bills in New York’s history and it’s under attack. With their profits at stake, industry lobbyists are flooding Albany with misinformation to bury this critical legislation.
