Climate Change has Caused Hurricanes to Intensify!

Global warming is causing hurricanes to become more severe. The warming of the ocean adds more fuel to the hurricane and that causes the winds to intensify. This past week, Hurricane Erin’s wind speeds increased by nearly 85 miles per hour overnight, peaking at 161 mph. Luckily it stayed off shore, but the damage from these intense storms continues to wreck havoc on communities, while our government does away with FEMA, and leaves the states to deal with the damage on their own.

The warming climate is also causing icebergs to melt, which is raising sea levels, and making coastal flooding worse. 2024 was named the hottest year on record and it’s only going to get worse from human activity being responsible for these increased temperatures.
