iEat Green Shares Interview with Steffen and Rachel Schneider from the Institute of Mindful Agriculture and Hawthorne Valley Farm

Hi All,

I had a great interview with Steffen and Rachel Schneider this past Thursday on the Progressive Radio Network! Both of them have decades of experience in biodynamic farming and have brought those insights into their work at the Institute for Mindful Agriculture. Realizing that our communities are struggling with issues of access to healthy food, isolation, economic disparities, mental health issues and suicide, they have seen the magic that can happen when people get outside and work in the soil. Mindful Agriculture can offer a path to healing on many levels, and can help promote collaboration within our community. They are working with local immigrants and farmers of color, to bring the conversation about race, equality, gender, and orientation into the forefront, and are helping people in the Art of Listening, so that everyone’s voice can be heard and recognized. Building a local food shed, and helping to revitalize the local economy is a process that is scalable and attainable if you work in partnership with other local organizations, and that is just what they are doing!

If you missed our interview, you can listen to it here, and if you want to know more about the Institute for Mindful Agriculture, check out their website at https://www.instituteformindfulagriculture.org/
